Press Release Analysis
What is a press release?
An official statement issued by a company or an individual to the media giving information on a particular matter. The company receiving the information may choose to publish it.
Boiler plate
A boilerplate is usually found at the end of a press release, and briefly describes the company or organisation related above. The short paragraph consisting of just a few sentences concisely explains the company or organisation. The boilerplate often appears on every release.
Embargo
A time constraint on publication, all media organisations need to abide by embargos. An embargo gives a minimum time/date that any information from a press release can be released into the public domain - published.

Format for a press release
Press releases follows a standard format as it makes it easier for readers to identify the details they need efficiently. But good ones often have a creative angle.
Thinking from the reader's perspective; why should I care, and what makes it special? Once you have your angle, then state the facts which support the news as objectively as possible.
This will help give your press release the right tone and allow you to fit it more easily into the accepted format.
